Heartbeat

I went to see Dr Chitra this afternoon. She had my baby's heartbeat checked this afternoon. It beats at 159 and according to Dr Chitra her heartbeat is perfectly fine, she told me that a normal foetal heartbeat is between 120- 160, so yea I'm really convinced that Baby Zara's heartbeat is perfectly fine. I was told to look after my diet as my sugar keeps on fluctuating. I checked my blood sugar this morning and it was 5.4 (fasting). I checked again 2 hours after breakfast and its 10.4, which was really high. I have to get it under control for the rest of 3 weeks, before my labor begin. Dr Chitra said i might be going into labor anytime after today as I am officially 37 weeks and a women may deliver anytime after 37 weeks. My husband said he's going to start putting everything i need in the car ready, just in case its time for me to go to labor. I'm really excited but yet so nervous. But my husband convinced me not to worry too much about it, because he said we are expecting for the most beautiful being that will change our life for the better, and he said 'Baby I know it will be painful, but soon we will have a beautiful baby daughter and it should be really fun'. Its such a comfort and i do need that...

Second visits

I went to see Dr Chitra for the second time yesterday, 5th February 2008. We were discussing about the birth plan. So i told her my husband will be coming with me to the labour room. It would be nice to have my husband to be on my side during labour, so we can greet our newborn baby together. She also asked us if we want to bring anything inside the labour room, we said we want to bring the camera, so we can capture our newly born baby's picture. Then she asked me if I like to move around during labour and that made me thinking for awhile, hehe. I cant imagine a women moving around or running around during giving birth (that's a bit funny). Then she explained that contractions come and go every few minutes. So, she told me during the few minutes of the'gone' contractions pain, I'm allowed to move or walk around and she said that will help to make the delivery easier and faster. I also told Dr Chitra of my plan to have an epidural, but my husband is quite worried about the risks of our baby to have an assisted delivery. He asked for the best option, and Dr Chitra said the best option is for me to first have a pethidine injection and see if I can bear the pain throughout labour. But she said if the pain is unbearable for me, then she will give me an epidural. My knees grew really weak just by the thought of them inserting the needle on my spinal cord.

Anyway, I had another ultrasound and Dr Chitra said the baby has grown by 100 gm from last week. Above were prints from the ultrasound. The first picture is the picture of our baby's foot and fingers. During the scanning, i can see that our baby daughter was actually tapping her foot and i can see her fingers moving. Its as if she was dancing to a music; the feeling to see her tapping her foot, moving her fingers were really sweet that no words can explain how I feel at that moment. I can see her heart beating and her kidneys too. The second print was the print of her face and i can see her cheeks grew chubbier and she constantly put her hands on her face, near her eyes etc. My husband was there on my side during my ultrasound and he just cant stop smiling looking at the ultrasound monitor. He believed that the 'fish oil' that he made me take everyday really contributes in our baby daughter's growth and development. We really can't wait to see our little angel. Its only 3 weeks away and it feels forever...

JPMC

I went to JPMC this afternoon and finally get to meet Dr Chitra. When i first saw her i thought she's a bit serious but when i went into her room and get to talk to her, she was really nice. She's not very soft spoken but she's nice, i like her. She did an ultrasound for me and i can see my baby again. This time with a good machine I can see it even more clearer. I got to see my baby's backbones, kidney, heart, head, fingers that was tightly clutched and her legs [yay :)]. Above were prints of my baby zara's face and her fingers. My next appointment will be on 5th February 2008 at 2.00 p.m and if she's going to do another ultrasound I'm going to make her print every part of my Baby Zara's body, just to make me feel that its worth paying for the ultrasound service.

Anyway, Dr Chitra said baby's fine everythings fine. Baby Zara's weigh about 2.65 kg now and expected to gain more weight before she's finally out to see the world. Also, she mentioned that according to the size of the baby, the gestational age is about 36 weeks and 4 days and my due date could be on the 28th February 2008. Until then...

34 weeks 6 days...

Its an ultrasound picture of my baby zara's head. I got this printed on the 18th of January 2008 but haven't got the chance to upload it on to the net.According to the ultrasound, the estimated gestational age is about 34 weeks 6 days +/- 2 weeks 6 days and the Fetal Parameters is about BPD 85.3 mm AC 232.5 mm. The estimated fetal weight is about 2247.34 grams. When i went for the gynae checked up that day, i remember my sugar level was on the hike and i got scolded for that. I blame my caramel latte from coffee bean that i had an hour before i went for the check up, silly me!!!

Too lazy

I haven't been updating in a long long time. Im just too lazy and sitting in front of the computer become least of my favorite lately. But today i've decided to write something on the blog. Much of the reason is that they install an internet connection in my office a few days back and since i have no choice but to sit in front of my PC, so i think yea might as well do something useful:). Anyway, I'm clearly about 8 months now and my gynaecologist think that its the best time to refer me to the place where i decide to deliver my baby. I wanted to go there at 37 weeks as I'm comfortable having her to check me up, but unfortunately she have to leave to Australia to visit her daughter whose if I'm not mistaken is about 4 months pregnant now, so i have to go to JPMC early. Aunt prema said she wants me to go early, so at least the doctor there in JPMC can call her and update her about my progress before she leaves to Australia. So yea, I'm seeing Dr Chittra later at 2.00 p.m and i hope she's a fine doctor and hope I'll be comfortable with her as much as Im comfortable with Aunt Prema. Wish me luck...

Normal delivery

I went to Dr Prema's clinic alone today, went there after work. Auntie Prema checked baby's heartbeat, and it was fine. But my blood pressure was high when she checked just now. Hence, i have to drop by every day to her clinic just to have my BP checked and monitored. Oh by the way, auntie Prema told me that its 'head down', meaning no more worries on caesarian, yay :). My next appointment will be on 11th january 2008.

Baby stroller + Pram

We bought baby pram yesterday, after work. Its a nice pram with giraffes, elephants etc on the cover :). I wanted to get more clothes for the baby, but i guess i had more than enough for now, hehe. I'll just wait till my baby is here. Oh by the way, i will definitely be getting that cute lovely grey jacket for the baby, so i can put it on her just in case she feels cold. Cant wait to meet you my love...Cant wait to see you through ultrasound tomorrow too...
