Swimming

Its zahara's 2nd term swimming class. We skipped one term, due to the H1N1 crap. But I guess, we cant just locked ourselves in the house and we really pity zahara for not having any activity apart from having our routine sunday breakfast and going to the shopping malls. And of course zahara was utterly super duper excited. On her 1st term class, Isabel taught zahara to dive, and when she put zahara under water, i guess zahara kinda forgot how it feels. But she was fine now, she can swim across and can already monouvre (how do you actually spell it? haha). Anyway, yea 6th dec will be her last day of her 2nd term. Im sure zahara would miss her swimming class. Her next term will be early January and this time her cousin syaziq will be joining her, yay :)

I love this poncho. It looks cute on zahara. When i first bought it, zahara insists that she dont want to wear it. She cries so hard to her mommy's amusement hehe. But thank god, non her actual swimming day she's ok wearing it. Otherwise it would just be a waste of money :s

Hi again everyone,

I haven't been updating for god knows how long hehe. I was really busy especially with zahara getting bigger. She is sucha handful now, and she is still on breastfeed. Hence , everytime she sees mommy she said 'nenen'. But mommy facebook sometime, and i was thinking maybe i should open up zahara's fan page,so everyone gets to see her pictures. Its easier to upload pictures on facebook rather than blogging. I will let you guys know the fan page once its done aight :).

Anyway, zahara is 1 year 9 months now. She can now run and all she did now is run and run instead of walking. I guess she just already master the 'running' skill :). She can also talk now. She have accumulated many words,her vocabulary keeps on going and going that sometime i lost track of the many words she learnt everyday. Sometime I dont even know where she learn some of the words. And I am actually smiling when I typed this (*recalling each and every words zahara said*). She can also swim now, and its so cute seeing the tiny zahara swimming. She loves going to tasek and play slides and right before we leave tasek, she said 'mommy want kenat' as in mommy i want coconut hahaha. Everytime we come home after jalan, she said 'na mo ati' as in inda mau aunty :D. Gosh, zahara really grows big now and time flies so fast. Last time she address me as mama and her daddy as daddy. But now, she calls me mommy and she cant stop saying mommy. Everynight before we go to bed, she climb all over me or her daddy and said 'tangah tangah', hahaha how cheeky is that. And just today, we went to the resataurant and ordering foods, and when everybody's done ordering she goes' orange juice. Can u believe it, she's ordering ordering juice herself (anak betuah).

All i can say is, zahara is soooo big now that if i want to tell you guys about her development, I can just go on and on and on hehe. Anyway, here's some of zahara's pictures. I hope you guys enjoy it :). Thanks everyone for becoming zahara's fans, I really really appreciate it. Love you all :)

I've been wanting to post these pictures a long time ago as it happened a few months back, i think sometime in May. These pictures are picture of Zahara with her hand cast. It happens before zahara went to bd, she was rolling around on her mattress and accidentally rolled over her elbows. She cried so hard and it worries me o much and hence we brought her straight to the hospital. Zahara have to go to an x-ray and she was really afraid and cried really really hard but when we got the result, the doctor said she was completely fine and her xray doesnt show any sign of fractures. But we were asked to bring zahara back for a check up 1 week later and to our surprise the other doctor said there's a 'suspected' fractures and they have to get it cast; so that to make sure that when she grow up her hands doesnt look funny. It was such a pity to see zahara with her hand casted, especially its on her right hand, and she finds it difficult to eat and play. But alhamdulillah she only has it for less than a week. The doctor said her hand is completely fine, and suspected that she just accidentally twist the joint and now the bone slips back to its joint or something like that. I feel soooo relieved when they took it off from her and see her play and eat with her right hand easily.

We brought zahara our for a picnic in muara beach and she was having a blast running around the beach.
And she gets her skirt all wet that we have to take it off and I unfortunately forgot to bring an extra cloth for zahara.

I haven't been updating my blog for god knows how many months. Therefore this is going to be a long post with loads of pictures :). Zahara is 1 year 4 months old now and she learned many things and words. She said 'babai (bye)' everytime we went out and also said babai to the 'michelin man' (along jalan kumbang pasang, hehe). She said 'hiiiiiii!'. She said babush (i think only zahara knows what it means), she said many other things that we dont understand. Zahara can now run, she wants to eat whatever we eats, she loves cornflakes and she can imitate things too. Time really flies so fast and zahara never fails to entertain me and my husband.

First Swimming Lesson

Zahara was thought to jump into the pool, she was a bit confused of what to do but did try to moved forward into the pool :)

Zahara went for her swimming lesson at BSC yesterday. She was a bit curious at the beginning, until we put her in the pool. She was utterly excited and can't stop laughing and shouting and babytalking (kesian...hehe). I can't swept it off my mind the expression on her face, when we first put her in the pool, and my heart smiles everytime I remember how 'iski' my little angel was that day. They were singing and playing with the toys inside the pool, was taught to float, and taught to jump into the pool. Zahara was really having such a wonderful splashing time in the pool, and she don't wish to stop even when the class was finished for the day. I really love the BSC, other than my lil angel get to learn swimming, its also a good place for Zahara to mingle around with other children :)

Immigration

We were planning to go and visit my brother sometime this year or maybe early next year (that is if we have enough budget to go for a holiday, since we have a lot to pay for our newly house [sigh]). Since we were on leave, so we thought its the best time to bring Zahara to the Immigration to make a passport.These are a few pictures of Zahara being soo sakai to see soo many people in the Immigration Department. Plus it takes quite a few shots to get the nice shot for her passport photo. I was quite impress to see that the passport section has become much more friendlier and nicer loking than before, and they have toys to make the toddlers look at the camera hehe (or maybe they always have it dari dulu, but i didnt know since Zahara is our first child hehe). In Zahara's case, i held a barney and dolphin up near the camera to get her to look at the camera. The officer in charge were making rhyme sound that made zahara dance and move her body, hence the picture taken with the digital camera turns out blurry, hehhe. I realised taking a passport picture for toddlers can be quite challenging at times hehe. But hey, now Zahara have her own passport and we can go travelling yay :)

Muara Beach

Last Sunday, we brought Zahara to Muara Beach. Her daddy has been wanting to bring Zahara to the beach a long time ago, but he's worried that the beach might be too hot for Zahara, or there might be sand flies everywhere that will bite Zahara and bla bla bla. But it seems that everybody's bringing their babies and kids to the beach, and they're fine (sigh...parents worries about unnecessary things too much sometime). Recently my husband told me taht my brother brought his 2 months old son to the beach and we were like 'okaaay...maybe we should bring Zahara to the beach and bring her to the playground there to see all the kids and let her walk on the sand and feel the water and see wheteher she likes it or not'. So yea, we did bring her to the beach and thought Muara Beach is the perfect beach to bring her. The moment we reach the olayground, Zahara was utterly excited to see there were so many children shouting, playing , running around etc. She was very very excited and cant stop shouting and babytalking herself. She was all soooo sakai to see soooo many people especially kids and love love love walking on the beach especially when the water swept her feet. She cant stop playing with the sand with her feet of course and trying to pick up the seashells (but of course her paranoid mum and dad didnt let her :P). But we didnt stay long coz its going to rain. But we promise Zahara to bring her there again maybe this Sunday for a picnic. Ohh ohh, Zahara wil be joining the Brunei Swimming Club too, and her class was scheduled to be on Sunday, but since we plan to go for a picnic then we moved her class to thursday (which is tommorow). A letter for my dearest daughter

My Dearest Zahara,

My daughter, my heart and soul. Today you are 10 months old and soon you will be 1 year old. Seeing you grow each and everyday is such a wonderful thing; that I am forgotten by how quickly time really flies. Lately you have learn to crawl very fast and mommy is there to watch you with all your move and lift you up whenever you fall. Soon you will learn to walk and soon we will be walking together holding each others hand. And I know, before I even realised you will be growing much more older and I will grow old to see you walk through the journey of your life and for that my daughter, there is nothing I wont do if you ever need me. I will walk with you my love; but If I am no longer in this world, remember I will still be there and be your guardian angel and speak to your heart whenever you need me.

Many parents said, seeing their children grow is such a beautiful feeling, and many said to be sad too to see them grow so fast. And to that my love, I feel the same way about you too my darling angel. In 20 years time, you will be 20 and I will be 50, and if this blog of the story of our journey together is still there, I want you to know that I am writing you this letter in one fine afternoon, with all the love in my heart for you, missing you so very much while you are at home and I am in my office.

One of our 'must-do-thing' nowadays is to always bring our daughter out either for breakfast or lunch (or sometime both) every weekend. Zahara loves going out and we never get the chance to bring her out often during the weekdays, especially when me and my husband doesn't have the same weekend except for sunday. So sunday will always be reserve for our small family, we were usually out the whole day and Zahara always ended up quite tired from the family outing. We went for breakfast last week, and my husband took these picture of Zahara's enjoying her food. Zahara has grown up and its now easier to bring her to the restaurant as she can eat and sit upright as mention in my last post. One of her always-do-thing now is showing us an 'ugly face', as per recorded in this picture, and we find it very very cute and cheeky. Time really flies really quickly. 8 months old

Zahara is 8 months old now. Well, its quite a late posts. And did I mentioned that she can clap her hands now, and she wakes up at 3 a.m to play, more often now. Time really flies and its getting much easier to look after Zahara and we can bring her to the restaurants too, as zahara can already sit steadily on a baby chair. She said 'mama' all the time too, although I'm not quite sure what she means by mama (because she says mama to everybody everytime she wants to be lifted up, she says mama if she wants to eat, she says mama everytime she cries and wakes up from her sleep). I hope she means me, when she says mama hehe. Plus, zahara loves it when I brushes her teeth, I think the toothpaste do the tricks hehe. Milkmaid Lady

My husband is admitted to the hospital for almost a week now and I dont get to spend much time with my baby angel, as I have to rush to the hospital. I have to split my time between the hospital and home. Thank God my husband is well now and hopefully will be discharge tommorow and yay our small family will get to spend the time together again, plus its zahara's 8 months birthday tommorow too. As usual, leaving Zahara with my younger sister and the maid, you will expect to get many cute pictures of Zahara in different style. And this picture reminds me of the lady picture in every milkmaid condensed milk can. Just look at my daughter's chubby cheeks, everybody said she's 'lampuh', but her mommy insists that Zahara is not fat, she's just big, hehe.

My cousin came over to visit us today and we managed to take zahara's picture with their gorgeous and lovely handsome son, Rafiq. These are pictures of them tapping their hands on the stool. Zahara was so into tapping her hands on anything nowadays and today she have a company to do so and they both looks like they were having so much fun, its looks as if they were having a competition of who can bang their hands harder, hehehe. More pictures of zahara during hari raya and also some of those pictures were when zahara's was baby talking to her teddy bear. Well, its actually our starbucks teddy bear collection that somehow zahara always find it very amusing and managed to pull it out from the rack. Its annoying but cute, especially when she walks to the rack and freezed for few seconds thinking of how to get the teddies out from the rack. But of course in the end our smart daughter managed to pull it out successfully, hehe

We went to my uncle's open house last sunday and my husband took these picture of zahara before we left the house. Even though we didn't get to go to many houses, the fact that my husband was so worried that zahara might get really tired, but hari raya was so much fun with zahara's around. The fun part was when mommy gets do an extra shopping to buy loads of new nice clothes for her little angel, and zahara get to get 'duit raya' that she can add on to her bank account, yay:)

Zahara is really getting bigger now and smarter too. She knowa how do twinkle twinkle little star, she responds and laugh to her own reflection everytime she sees it on the mirror, she's learning how to wave goodbye and many more. These are zahara's collection of books. I simply love buying zahara books, and everytime I showed zahara her new book , she always gets so excited.

These 3 books are OK. Zahara likes it but she loves the 3 bear adventures better...

These are zahara's most favourite books; Princess Bear, Fairy Bear and Ballerina Bear. I think as for now, she favours the books because it has glitters all over the pages. These collection has 4 titles altogether including Birthday Bear. But too bad I dont manage to buy her the complete set as the one on 'birthday bear' is out of stock :(

I love these books,its from Aunt Olga. She bought it for Zahara all the way from Switzerland :). 'Guess How Much I Love You' is such a lovely book (its about Little Nutbrown Hare trying to tell Big Nutbrown Hare, how much she love her; but all in all its about how love is not an easy thing to measure). The other book is in french. I love it so much. I used to learn french for about a year, so yea eventhough I cant speak French and only understand a little but at least I can read French well.I love reading this book to zahara and plan to send Zahara to Alliance Francaise when she's fit to join the class at later age.The other book is called '1001 things to spot in Fairyland'. Its a lovely nice cute book about many things to spot in fairyland. I guess I have to wait until zahara is big enough to understand it, and I cant wait for that :)

This of course has nothing to do with zahara's book collection. Its just zahara's new picture lying on mommy's and daddy's bed. But hey, can you spot zahara's 2 new tiny itsy bitsy teeth? :).

Zahara's hair is getting longer after her first hair cut a few months back. Today, we brought her to the salon to have a proper hair cut. Luckily, Zahara behaves herself while the hairdresser cut her hair and she was quite impress with her :). I will always remember this moment, as zahara was looking really cute and curious when the hairdresser cut her hair. She keeps on looking alternately at her daddy and the hairdresser, not knowing what was happening hehe. Zahara always melts my heart, all the time.

Today we bought zahara a baby high chair. She's just turned 6 months and of course has started eating few weeks earlier. My husband thought its more convenient if zahara can have her own seat, so she can learn eating by herself faster. We also bought her a beaker,which zahara didnt quite sure how to drink her water from her new cup. But my smart daughetr figure it out in less than just a minute (me in a proud mama mode :),hehe)

I hate it so much when I have to leave Zahara for work. I hate seeing Zahara looking at me without blinking eyes every morning when I have to leave her for work. I guess every mothers will feel the same way as I. The thought of leaving my baby girl at home sometime makes me wish that I don't have to go to work, but its an impossible thing especially when cost of living nowadays is getting higher.That is the main reason why I prefer her sleeping before I went to work, so I dont have to see my poor baby looking at her mother leaving her for the whole day. But sometime my sister always took her pictures while Im gone to work, and these are pictures of zahara while her mommy is at work.

Zahara's old baby seat is kinda small for her now, so we bought zahara her new seat. We bought it last month but I only managed to upload it on the blog now. She really loves her new seat and always stay put everytime we brings her out. And as usual she will also fell asleep in the car everytime we went out.

Zahara started eating on the 10th August 2008. We've decided to feed her, since the nurse said she can start eating a week before her 6 months birthday, but we've started earlier ;). Of course, when I first fed her, she didn't know what to do. But zahara picked it up very quickly. She learns to open her mouth and quite excited about her new eating experience.She have eaten papaya, brown rice cereal, avocado but her favourite so far is brocolli :). Plus zahara knows when to ask for her water, she cries for water every after few feeds:).These are pictres of zahara eating.

These are pictures of my little zahara sleeping on her walker. Since my maid went home, my mother came over to my place to help me looking after zahara, which according to her zahara prefers to be put in her walker than people carrying and holding her. I guess sometimes she didnt feel comfortable being held for too long. Funniky enough, my mum said the only way to put zahara to sleep is by putting her in her walker and these pictures just proves it well (my poor lil baby). My mum said maybe zahara knows her grandma is not strong enough to carry her for a longer time, especially when zahara is now 8kg (or probably more), so she knows how to take care of herself i.e. by sleeping herself on the walker, hehe.

Aunt Olga and Uncle Kurt invited us for a hi tea at the Empire Hotel last Sunday. We thought we should bring Zahara and expecting her to like it. But unfortunately Zahara was being fussy, I guess she was just very tired and needed to sleep. But the whole afternoon was very nice, especially with the good foods and excellent company. We had a visit from Aunt Olga and Uncle Kurt from Switzerland. They bought loads of stuff for Zahara including nice clothes (love the t shirts and pants, and also the cute swimming costumes), tooth brushes enough for at least 2 years, books (I really love the books, its very very nice and not available in Brunei). Zahara love the books too, especially the '1001 things to spot in fairyland', its very nice and she gets really excited everytime I show her the book. Above are the pictures of Zahara in bandana, also a gift from Aunt Olga and Uncle Kurt. Coincidently, I've been looking for the bandana for Zahara and was very very glad that we got some from Aunt Olga :). Zahara is very happy with the gift and wish to say thank you very much to both Aunt Olga and Uncle Kurt, merci beaucoup :)

I finally bought zahara a baby walker. I got her a cheap one since I know she wont be using it for a long time. Its nice and its pink. Initially her daddy doesnt want me to buy her the walker, because he said according to some articles on the net, a baby walker is not supposed to be good for the baby as baby are supposed to learn how to crawl first before she learn how to walk, i dont know. But like other mommies, I bought zahara a walker anyway. Plus zahara loves it too. Whenever she cries, we always put her in her walker and she keeps quiet almost instantly. But of course she cries too when she gets tired of sitting :)

Clinic

We took this pictures after we got back from the clinic for zahara's vaccination. I was supposed to bring her to the clinic at 8 am, meaning I wont be going to the office early, but silly me I forgot about zahara's appointment and went to the office instead, and only remember when I got to the office. So I ended up going back home around 9 am to finally bring zahara for her appointment. It wont happen again baby, mummy promise you that!

I bought the skirt in KK when I was about 8 months pregnant. I thought after i gave birth, we wont be able to go for a holiday in a long long time, so I convinced my husband that we have to go for a holiday. At first, my husband was a bit concern about me going on the plane, so I said we can just go to KK since the plane ride to KK only takes about 20-25 minutes. And of course, I managed to convinced him to go. I bought loads of baby's stuff and the skirt is one of them. I though she looks really gorgeous in those skirt matched with her cute t-shirt from her aunt mar.

I bought her this bathrob in Bangkok when I was just 2-3 months pregnant (cant remember exactly). And now zahara is already 4 months and this was the first time I put her bathrob on. She just had too much clothes in her wardrobe that sometime her mommy forgot to put it on her. I remember I bought her this nice pyjama and I forgot about it. Then when I saw the pyjama and tried to put it on her, it doesnt fit her anymore. Anyway, at least I have a picture of her in her bathrob to prove that at least zahara wore it before she grow out of the size hehehe.

Zahara is 4 months old today. As always, every 25th of the month she always did something that surprises her mommy and daddy. Zahara rolled her back to her front last night and we thought it happened by accident. But this moning she did it again and she did it for a couple of time and its so convinced us that our baby zahara is now officially 'pandai betiarap', yay:). Me and my husband always make an effort to bring zahara out once a week, and of course it will be sunday as sunday is our only weekend together. We usually bring zahara to the mall because we thought its the most convenient place to carry her in her stroller. I came home from work the other day, and saw my daughter's sitting down on the couch and watch tv. My sister put her to sit and put loads of cushion on her side so she didn't fall off. Poor zahara. (of course when we took this picture, she haven't had her hair cut yet, hehe). Also, when we took this picture we were all calling zahara's name to make her look at the camera and smile, instead she gave us that look 'why is everyone calling my name and laughing like crazy???', hehe. I think she was just confused who to look at and what to do; either to smile or response or cry, poor baby.

Zahara is so into her fingers for these past few weeks. All she did is suck her fingers. But she still dont know which finger to suck, so she ended up putting her whole fingers inside her mouth.

We bought this hat when we went to KK few weeks before I deliver. I convinced my husband to go to KK. because I thought when we have our baby, we wont be able to go for another holiday in a long time (until zahara grows a bit bigger). Its a cheap good holiday, all we did is eat and have coffee and bought loads of cloth for our little angel.

My poor little baby cries really hard and it breaks my heart to see her in pain; that I actually have tears in my eyes.

The nurse told me to hold her hand just before she prick the needle. I was really nervous to see my baby to get injected, knowing that it will really hurt her :(

Zahara And Daddy

Zahara woke up quite early this morning and as usual she's making a lot of noise. She wouldn't continue sleeping in her cot so I took her on our bed and she fell asleep as soon as I put her on our bed. Everybody said she look like her daddy but I didn't realized that until this morning when I saw her sleeping next to her daddy. So realizing Zahara does look like her daddy, I decided to take a picture of her and her Daddy. I love these pictures. Both Zahara and my husband were soundly sleeping and look heavenly sweet. I love them both so much.

We were so worried about it but my mother said its normal for babies to spit or throw up almost every time after feeding. We haven't been out since zahara's birth, that me and my husband were so bored so we decided to go out and bring Zahara along. So we brought Zahara to my husband's parents at tungku since we thought its not safe to bring Zahara out in the public area yet; afraid that she will catch a cold or something (if that makes sense to you guys). I haven't been updating for quite awhile because my tiny little angel is keeping her mommy real busy lately. I also think that Zahara's vision is slowly becoming clear, as she has started looking at many stuff around her including her toys. She also sleeps well when people put her in their arms. I blame my mother for spoiling her as she always lift her up from her baby cot even when she's asleep. Ah well, my little angel is just so irresistible that everybody wants to carry her in their arms and they just cant stop kissing her. Anyway, we bought Zahara a 'rocker' few days back at bebeland. Of course her daddy gets to pick which one, and he picked the one with the weird looking green teddies. The other night my Zahara woke up in the middle of the night and refused to go back to sleep. Then I remember my mother said that baby sleeps well if you rock them to sleep so I tried putting Zahara on the rocker and yes it works. She fell asleep not long after I put her on it. I guess its really not an 'old mid wives tales' after all when people said baby sleeps well when you rock them to sleep. Here are some pictures of Zahara in her new green rocker. Enjoy :)

Clinic

We went to the clinic today as both me and my husband were really worried about Zahara been vomiting after every feeding. We wanted to go the public paediatric clinic, which opens every tuesday and thursday. So, thinking that today's day is tuesday we drove our way to kiarong's paediatric clinic and only realized that today's day is wednesday not tuesday (imagine how busy we are as a first time parents that we lost track of the dates and days). So, not knowing where to go we brought zahara to lee clinic where the doctor checked zahara and weigh her. To our surprised zahara has gain so much weight from 3.59 when she was born and now she's already 4.5 kg :) (I feel so relieved now that i know my baby is not underfed or something if you know what i meant, hehe). Soon after we finished at the lee clinic, we dropped by Dr Prema's clinic to say hi to Auntie Prema and introduced Zahara to her. She checked Zahara's heartbeat and tummy and she said she was fine. I was a bit worried because earlier at lee clinic, the doctor said she had a little bit of infection on her cord and she will be giving some antibiotics to treat it, but luckily we went to Auntie Prema and get a second opinion. I was relieved when she said her cord was just fine. She told us if anything, we can just go to TK Chan clinic as they are a specialised paediatricians. At least now we know where to to bring our baby. Until then

These are pictures of Zahara with her grandparents from her daddy's side. Both her grandpa and grandma loves her tremendously as her grandma cant stop missing her each and everyday. Grandma bought Zahara loads of beautiful and convenient baby's stuff too, which is very very sweet of her. Both me and Zahara were very very thankful (more than words can say) for all the supports in many many ways from both of them and we will never forget that for the rest of our life. Both of them were there and had patiently waited for the arrival of Zahara and her arrival was celebrated in a quiet joyous moment. Now, these are pictures of her grandparents on the day before we got discharged from the hospital. A zillion thank you to grandpa and grandma from Baby Zahara and her mommy.
